Bandi Shorr is a magical time for Sikhs. It is when we come together as a community to remember our 6th Guru, Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee.
When I was young, I didn’t know what Bandi Shorr was. I did, however, know about Diwali and the story of Rama and Sita.
Diwali or the festival of light is a wonderful celebration for Hindus worldwide and it’s a reminder of the fight that we face in our lives of light over darkness. But it is very different from Sikhs and what they celebrate.
If you want to share with your children, or children’s school, the Sakhi of Bandi Shorr, please do use the presentation I use every year! There are some ideas of what you can do with your children for Bandi Shorr – even a Covid19 version. Download now!
This is an excellent resource. Made by the amazing sevadars at Basics of Sikhi, it is small compact and downloadable for your ease.
